I have a lot of thin curly hair. It's dry and coarse. I definitely don't have "roll out of bed and go" hair. If I don't wet it every morning and smother it in product, I can't leave my house. I know that wetting it is what's drying it out but I can't see any other way to manage it. Any suggestions?

okay.. so. the mayo thing sounded great... until i made the concoction. probably the nasty smell i've ever encountered. i'm not complelety finished with the whole process. let's just say my entire bathroom reaks of mayonaise and i'm getting overwhelmed. i'm airing out my whole room with a fan and an opened window.. not sure the stench is going to go away any time soon.. considering i cant really tell if it's leaving because sadly i've adjusted to it. so.. um, i'm a bit freaked because im not supposed to shampoo my hair but... kinda sorta want to. im a little embarrassed i even tried the little recipe. ill see what happens i guess. next time i'll just buy a $100 product.. whatever at least it wouldnt smell toxic...

I am a huge fan of deep conditioning. As of late, I have incorporated natural products (i.e. organic olive and avocado oils, unrefined shea butter, as well as sweet almond oil) into my conditioners. I mix the above into several conditoners formulated for dry/damaged hair as they seem to work best on curly hair. I wet my hair mineral water and slather the natural oil/conditioner mix to my hair. Then I take a small wet towel (also soaked with mineral or distilled water) and place it on top of my conditioned hair and then I take a plastic cap an d place it on top of that. I sit under the dryer from 30-60 minutes and I emerge with hair sooooo soft and smooth, I am mad that I had not done this years before. Try it the steam conditioning method REALLY penetrates the cortex of the hair. It is a MUST!!!
