Ah! I reeeally want to try elf makeup and brushes! I currently have the WoRsT brushes in the world! I'm too afraid to wash them because they shed so much so they are full of powder, it's gross. So anyways, i just recently started wearing makeup and I don't have a whole lot of money so elf would be great. If anyone has any good natural makeup ideas and some good cheap black eyeliners, that would be great! Just email me please!

About the all over color sticks, I was having the same problem (with them looking too fake) but if you use a light powder over them it lightens them out and make them more natural, at least for me. Hope that helps.

I bought a few things about a week ago, it didn't take long to get here, about a week (it came on a Saturday, which is cool).

I got the Tone Correcting Concealer in Light, I figured it would be a match because I'm super pale body wise but not face wise so I figured settling in the middle would work but it didn’t, it was too dark, I was a bit disappointed that the color on the website was way off compared to what came in the mail but for a dollar it’s not that big a deal.

I also bought three Nail Polishes. I got one in Clear just because I was in need of a clear nail polish and it works just fine. I also got Gum Pink, it looks exactly like what’s on the website, it’s a bit watery but it’s a very fun bubble gum pink. Then I also got Berry Pink, again it looks exactly like what’s on the website, it has shimmers and it’s really pretty, but it again is kind of watery so you’ll probably need to put two coats if not more.

The Shine Eraser works great, I don’t get very oily (but I’m preparing for summer) so I use them on my boyfriend. You get fifty sheets for a dollar so it’s a great deal especially when I compare that price to that of Too Faced (which I almost bought for $12).

The Eye Widener is a descent investment. It can be hard to get on your eye so you have to rub in on your hand to warm it up, but it really does give your eyes that bigger, brighter look. The cap has a built in sharpener, which is pretty handy though I don’t know if it works. So for a buck it’s a pretty good deal.

I figured for a dollar it was worth to try all the brushes so I got the Professional Complete Set of 12 Brushes (you don’t save any money for buying sets, 12 brushes for 12 dollars). Some were goods, others weren’t as great, I haven’t used some of them yet though. My favorite so far has to be the Brow Comb and Brush for clumps on my eye lashes and the Eyelash & Brow Wand, they made my eyelashes huge and gorgeous. There was some gunk (I have no clue what it was it looked like a gel or maybe a glue?) on some of the brush handles, and also some scratches, it’s not that big a deal but a little annoying for me since I like my things looking perfect.

The last thing I bought was Mineral Eye Shadow ($3 each) in Celebrity, it looks like an orange brown on the website but when you get it it’s so gorgeous, it’s kind of copper looking with some purple undertones. It’s really shimmery though, and I haven’t used it yet so I can’t tell you if it’s good but the color is so pretty.

Also if you give up three of your friends’ e-mail addresses you get a free Candy Shop Lip Tin (usually sell for $2), I was hoping I would not get the Mocha Maniac because I hate the smell of coffee but of course I got the one I didn’t want, I tried it on my hand and it looks like it would be pretty on your lips but the smell is too overwhelming for me.

I'll let you know about the other things I'm ordering.

I like elf a lot... for the price they have some pretty ok make up.I use their lip glosses a lot..and i enjoy their eye liners. The only things that I can do without is the eyeshadows. Some break and some appear too sparkly. But i do want to try the mineral make up. I've tried loreal's and it left my face with that chalky look. Not cute on wedding day!

The only complaint I have about E.L.F. is that the color "swatches" online aren't very true. I thought the shadows ended up being a lot duller in person. And the brightening eye pencils aren't very creamy. I guess Kohl costs more than $1.

Now I am curious about the flavor of this lip gloss. Is it chemically weird or what? Sounds like e.l.f. is a mixed bag of great and not so great finds. Thanks for your input Tracy!

Hmmm. Right up my budget alley- but I think I bought the wrong stuff. The eyeshadow I picked up with in a case, pre-pressed, and it didn't stay on at all.

David alos complained about the taste of the lipshine stuff.

I suppose I should have picked up some brushes, too...

I ordered a couple of their hypershine lip glosses. I like that they stay on really well and don't run off my lips. They do kind of have a funny taste though and after kissing my dh with some on he was wigging out. LOL.

I've been looking for some new eyeshadow so I bought 4 and a compact. I like the strength of the colors. I have a hard time with the purples and greens I have looking gray on my eyelids. These seem to actually stay the color they're supposed to be. I'm really liking them.

I tried a color stick and it's okay. I use it for cheeks, but it doesn't seem to rub in very well. If it rub it in enough the color disappears, but if I leave it so some color shows, it feels like I'm wearing make-up.

I also got the shimmer mineral glow. I thought it might be a little like the Bare Essentials Mineral Veil. It's more shimmery than I was expecting, but I like it.

Over all I'm really happy with my purchases, especially the eyeshadow. After recently plunking down $20 for a Stila green eyeshadow only to have it look gray on my lids, I was super-pleased that the ELF's sage eyeshadow stayed green and was $19 cheaper. I'll definitely be buying it again when I run out.
