A bronzer gives you a nice toasty glow without the threat of skin damage.
May I introduce, Urban Decay’s “baked” bronzers!
Urban Decay’s “baked” bronzers are literally baked in an Italian oven on a tiny terra cotta disc for 24 hours, then hand-finished by a factory full of motherly Italian women. The result is an ultra-smooth, sheer-finish bronzer that can be used wet or dry and always goes on streak-free.
Apply dry with a fat brush (like Urban Decay’s Good Karma Big Buddha Brush) for a light dusting of summer sun, or use it wet with a sponge for a deeper St. Tropez shade. Because the formula is cooked, not pressed, the powder returns to a micro-fine feel after being wet - without glazing!
Baked: bronze and golden shimmer
Toasted: matte -if you want to keep the shimmer away

New! Gilded: bronze shimmer with veins of gold (great for fair skin)
Coverage is streak-free, and gives your skin a beautiful natural glow. And like all of Urban Decay’s products, you can either “love it or leave it” and return the product in 45 days for a full refund. The Baked Bronzer retails for $24 at Urban Decay.
P.S. Urban Decay is looking for smokin’ hot new looks created entirely of vegan-approved products. (Mo and Decorative Diva, I am thinking of you)! Selected winners will receive a gift certificate for $50 to use on UrbanDecay.com, and hey—just for entering, they will give you free shipping on your next order. Enter at the Urban Decay website before 7.31.08.

Mo, is this the stuff you had on the other day that looks so incredible?
Oooo… I like the idea of using it both wet or dry. What a cool concept! Thanks for the review MBB!
I’ve never tried Urban Decay, but I was drooling over it at my first visit to a Sephora store last week.
Tracy, not what I had, but I bet it’s beautiful. I adore bronzers on my fair skin because it a touch of natural color and there’s no chance of looking flushed or sunburned! Looks like I will have to someday add another one to my collection. Leave it to Urban Decay to take something as ubiquitous as a bronzer and make it their own.
Jen, I love UD’s design idea, but not all my makeup is vegan so I’d have to cheat and that just defeats the whole purpose. If I had the $50 I could grab the few items I need, but I need those items to grab the 50 bucks. Quite a catch 22 yeah?
Decorative Diva, it’s amazing. Seriously, my hands down favorite.
I bet you would have so much fun with their loose pigments!
I wanted to tag you for the Premio award because this is such a great site! Here’s the link: http://mamafasha.blogspot.com/2008/07/wow-thank-you-so-much.html
Okay, this is one I really want to have - bronzers are great for “older” skin - like mine!
This would be a beautiful bronzer for you Marilyn.
I used this back (in Baked) in 2005, when bronzers seemingly started to take over the market (well, at least, to me). A Sephora Makeup Artist recommended this to me for a big event, and it worked very well.
At the time, I only wore makeup for special occasions, so when I dropped it awhile later, I was very sad to see it break into a few large pieces.
A year after that, I decided it was high time for another bronzer, so I headed down to Sephora and picked a new one out. It must have been summer or something, b/c Sephora had this tower of bronzers. A Makeup Artist picked out two, and I’m still using one of those today. Maybe I don’t wear makeup much (I’m up to weekly now), but Cargo’s bronzer gives me a nice glow that BF thought was natural, ie tan =D I love how finely milled it is - so fine, that sometimes I’m not sure if I’m wearing enough. It has subtle sparkles/glitter in it that I’ve had people comment on, but only if they’re like THIS CLOSE to your face. Try it if you haven’t, Cargo’s bronzers are GREAT! If this huge pan ever runs out, I might try another, but I think I’ll always have a soft spot for this.
Thank you so much for your bronzer recommendations M! Cargo’s bronzer sounds beautiful!
Hope to hear from you again! Jen
