This ad is ridiculous and wrong on so many levels. What the heck were they thinking? They weren’t.
I can’t help but laugh at the fact that wearing your baby is “in fashion”. I know that’s what I was thinking when having my three kids. Am I totally an “official mom” yet?
The ad has been pulled from it’s main site but if anyone hasn’t seen it, it can be found on youtube…

Everyone is talking about this! I think Motrin was incredibly stupid to think this ad wouldn’t piss people off. Then again, since everyone’s buzzing about it, perhaps it was marketing genius!

I haven’t seen the ad, but based on the transcript, it appears to have a selfish and resentful tone to it. e.g. “Supposedly, it’s a real bonding experience” and “What about me?” As if it’s all too much trouble. I’m with you…..this ad really sends the wrong message. It’s been 14 years since I had my “little one” and I don’t recall having pain issues carrying her in a sling (for lack of a better word, since we didn’t have the same kind of slings back then). Wearing your baby isn’t a fashion statement. It’s motherly love.

WOW! I was wondering what all the Twitter about Motrin was about. I had no idea. Just makes me want to slap some marketing “guru” upside the head though. And I don’t even have kids! Who was the idiot behind this?!? Geesh.

Aye! Crazy stuff, this ad campaign – did you see the ad they are running for Children’s Motrin? Count the number of times they say “crazy”…implying we are all crazy? Um…I’m thinking maybe the person who masterminded this campaign was a bit “crazy”!

Seriously? That’s ridiculous. And like you don’t get back/shoulder/neck pain from carting your kid around on your hip all day without a sling, or from hauling around one of those heavy carseat carriers. Yeah, I totally bought a sling so I could be a “real” mom and so everyone else would know it. Puh-leez.
