Because DecoDiva loves to experiment with various colors and has a gift for creating beautiful dramatic eyes with her makeup, I asked her to share some ways to “dress up” your eyes for the holidays. Choose your favorite shades and have some fun with your eye color this holiday season!
Nude Eyes
If you want a nude eye look, here are the shades I recommend.
Aromaleigh Nude Frost – Pale champagne pearl frost
MAC Bare Study – champagne with gold and white pearl
Urban Decay Sellout – pink champagne shimmer
Meow Witty Kitty – vanilla with a subtle metallic cinnamon-copper sheen and undertone
Aromaleigh Pink Negligee – pink with delicate taupe and violet undertones
Aromaleigh Angel Wing – a very pale white/pink with iridescent pink highlight
Aromaleigh Alchemy – an iridescent, very fine shimmer that has a copper glow
Aromaleigh Champagne Toast (above picture) – a nude pinkish fawn/champagne tone with bright aqua shimmer
L’Oreal Hip Pigment Restless ($7) – a french vanilla yellow with a pink reflect
Too Faced Totally Toasted Park Avenue Beige ($17)
Then I would use a gel liner, such as Aromaleigh’s Indelible gel eyeliner in Black Out, or MAC’s Fluidline in Blacktrack. Finish with your favorite volumizing mascara.
Smoky Eyes
Smoky eyes are always great for the holidays, and there are several ways to pull off this look. I would pair up Black and Gold, Black and Copper, Black and Silver, Green and Gold, or Green and Silver for a festive holiday eye.
Use a gel liner, such as Aromaleigh’s Indelible gel eyeliner in Black Out, or MAC’s Fluidline in Blacktrack. Finish with your favorite volumizing mascara.
For extra shimmer, apply gold or silver eye shadow to your eye lash tips. You can use Too Faced’s Starry Eyed Liner in Gold Digger, Silver Lining or Ooh and Ahh.
Greens:
Aromaleigh Wintergreen – lush neutral green with a soft smooky undertone and red contrast shimmer sparkle (DecoDiva demonstrates this shade at this link).
Aromaleigh Twinkling Lights (picture) – cool holiday green with pink/red twinkling shimmer sparks
MAC Swimming – a scintillating sea green
Urban Decay Chains ($16) – green with a deep gold base
Urban Decay Mildew – deep green
Silvers:
Aromaleigh Tangled Tinsel (picture) – metallic true silver with bright glints of iridescent sparkle
Aromaleigh Fume – true silver
Aromaleigh Psyche – lustrous shimmery silver taupe
Urban Decay Vapor – very light silver
MAC Electra – muted silver with icy metallic shimmer
Golds:
Nars Silent Night – metallic glimmering gold
Aromaleigh Party Dress (picture) – like true liquid shimmering gold with hot sparks of gold sparkle
Aromaleigh Butterscotch – dreamy soft yellow pale gold with soft red iridescent shimmer
Aromaleigh Astonish – amazing mirrored shadow, golden with silver highlights
Aromaleigh Gleam – pure amazing gold
MAC Goldmine – intense gold with shimmer
Coppers:
MAC Gold Spice – metallic coppery gold
Meow Claws & Effect – caramelized copper with gold sheen
Meow Petulent – copper cider with rose undertones
Aromaleigh Re-Gifted (picture) – smooth metallic copper with a rosy sheen and tiny red sparkles
Aromaleigh Pyro – smooth and shimmering cardamom/cinnamon shade
Aromaleigh Delicate Copper – copper with silky fine glimmer
Urban Decay Toasted – muted copper shimmer
Blacks:
MAC Black Tied ($14.50) – midnight black with a silver white sparkle
MAC Cloudburst – true black with subtle green pearl
Aromaleigh BlackPlanet – black black flecked with shining silver shimmers
Urban Decay Oil Slick – black with silver glitter
Purple Eyes:
You can do a purple eye for an alternate holiday look. I would do a deeper purple in the crease and outer vee, perhaps even darkening it with some black, while using a lush purple on the lid and a slightly lighter color for your inner corner. The examples below are some great lush purple shades.
Aromaleigh Mulberry – vivid warm holiday purple with rich highlight sparkles
MAC Satellite Dreams – deep dirty plum with violet/blue reflects
MAC Crème de Violet – vivid pinkish-violet flecked with gold shimmer
Aromaleigh Almost Midnight (above picture) – vibrant jewel purple with blue sparkles
Aromaleigh Viviane – intense smoky bronzed violet with bright purple sparkles
Aromaleigh Mireille – scrumptious cool purple with pink and coppery sparks.
Meow Tongue Tied – deep smoky plum
Meow Heavy Petting – intense vivid black purple (perfect for crease)
These shades and eyeliners are available at Aromaleigh Cosmetics, MAC Cosmetics, TooFaced, Urban Decay or Meow Cosmetics sites. The colors can be sold individually and several can be found in palettes, so shop around for the best deal.   If you want to find the best prices for private label cosmetics, read our post that does the price comparisons for you, “All About Private Label Cosmetics.”  And to enhance and create the best eye looks that last and have vivid color, always use your eye primer first!

Those Aromaleigh colors are GORGEOUS. And had I not discovered the aromaleigh rocks! sonic collection at the same time as Sephora and Urban Decay’s F&F events, I would’ve bought the sampler in a heartbeat!! That list of colors makes my head spin, in a good way!
For me the smoky eye look doesn’t work unless my lashes are BAM, so I’m dedicated to finding a great mascara. I bought MAC’s Mineralize eye color trio in Danger Zone for my holiday eyes. Plus it’s so hard to find red shadow at all so I had to get it.
I can’t wait to try out my Starry Eyed liner on my lashes. Great post, you really have something for everyone.
You’ll love the Aromaleigh Rocks! Sonic reds. I have several of them and they’re awesome.
I’ve been using Bare Escentuals Magic Wand Brushless Mascara lately and I really like it. I’ve had a very difficult time trying to find a good mascara, as well, and the BE one is the first I’ve found in a long time that I think looks good.
