One of the biggest perks of reviewing beauty products is that you receive many products from wonderful companies (I know… any beauty obsessed girl’s dream!). Although, I often find myself saying, “Too many skincare products and not enough face to try them all.” This is especially true when we review skincare because I like to test a line for at least a month before writing up my review.   Luckily I have acquired some trusted, smart beauty review partners!  I am very pleased to introduce you to this particular new beauty reviewer. She is one of my closest personal friends, my sister Monique.
The Somme Institute promotes “the biggest industry breakthrough†since the introduction of Alpha Hydroxy Acids in the advancement of skin rejuvenation. Somme Institute developed a new technology in skin care called MDT5 (Molecular Dispersion Technology). This formula boasts free radical fighting anti-oxidants, allowing 5 highly engineered essential vitamins (A, B3/B5, C and E) to penetrate the inner skin layers with high concentrations of polypeptides that target specific skin cell receptors.Â
Somme Institute’s product line is packaged in minimalist containers with color coded dots representing each product, at first, this is a little over-whelming and I needed to follow the diagram (which is included with each product) to make sure I knew what each was and what order to use them in. The containers that had pump mechanisms did not always function properly but the screw-top containers were large enough to hold and open easily.
All steps included their patented MDT5 formula.
Step 1. Nourishing Cleanser- a mild and gentle cleanser with a pleasant smell, I definitely recommend this product. Blue Dot Icon.
Step 2. Transport- pre-moistened cotton pads, very gentle exfoliation with AHA and BHA. Purple Dot Icon.
Step 3. Serum- highly concentrated vitamin C gel. Orange Dot Icon.
Step 4. A-Bomb- My personal favorite of the entire line, a light-weight moisturizing cream, which speeds cell renewal, reduces lines and wrinkles, and helps to treat and prevent acne. Green Dot Icon.
Step 5. Double Defense SPF 30+- My least favorite of the line, did not have a pleasant smell, irritated and stung my eyes, boasts free radical scavengers and anti inflammatory agents. Pink Dot Icon.
Step 6. EYE- Why they waited for the eye cream to be last is beyond me, firms and strengthens, and increases skins elasticity over time. Blue Dot Icon.
If you are like me, my time and money is at an all-time high priority and I would highly recommend using the Cleanser, Transport when needed, A-Bomb and the Eye Cream. The other steps in this product line are fun to have but exceed what is practical in an everyday routine, who has time to stay so organized when time is of the essence.
The Somme Institute Value Set which includes all five products retails for $175 at the Beauty.com site. However, if you don’t want to commit to the big bucks of this set, but would like to give Somme Institute a try, I would recommend trying the Somme Institute Mobile Travel Kit  for $85.
Many thanks for your awesome review Monique, and hope we can hear from you soon again at Mythbuster Beauty!

Welcome Monique! Everyone should be so lucky as to be a tester of beauty products! Nice job on your first post. I love the look of this brand – polka dots are always fun.
Welcome to the gang Monique!
I think the color coding is a simple but smart move. As we add more and more products for our skincare needs we are often left trying to remember the proper order to use them in.
Maybe I could just make a kit with stickers to add to your own products? Hmm. Trademark that!
And the fact that there’s a product called A-Bomb just makes me want to try it. Yes, I’m a marketers dream!
I’d have to verify with you here. Which is not one thing I usually do! I enjoy studying a publish that will make people think. Additionally, thanks for permitting me to remark!
