So last week I mentioned that L’Oreal has tried the custom mix glosses and that the results were less than spectacular for me. Today I’d like to share a little more about that product and my feelings on it.
L’Oreal Color Presso lip gloss is two tubes of gloss in one container. You squeeze each tube until you get exactly what you want at the tip and then apply. It sounds easy but it doesn’t work quite as well. First things first, I love the glosses. The colors are nice and the few I’ve tried have all been very flattering. They last well and give a nice even color. It’s the applicator I didn’t love. When you squeeze one side of the gloss it sucks some of the color back in when you let go. And it’s almost impossible to get both colors out at once, you have to have the time to do each one individually. This is NOT the product to try and use when you’re behind the wheel or don’t have the time to fidget with the container. But, for the more industrious MacGuyver types among us, it’s pretty easy to flip open the hanging loop part of the container and swap colors from one pair to another in order to create just the look you want. At the very least it’s a good way to carry two colors you like in one container, even if you don’t intend to blend them. Nice glosses, passable delivery system, but at $13 it’s a price tag slightly above my ideal drugstore product price range. I suppose I should take into consideration the fact that you’re really getting two glosses, which makes the price seem more reasonable. Have you tried these blendable colors? Is there anything you would change about them?

imho, there has gotta be an easier way to apply lip gloss!
Liked the colors, not crazy about the dual-chambered container, and did not like the applicator at all. You really have to be MacGuyver to open this stuff!
Mo, your reviews are the awesomest!
Love the glosses themselves, really like the flavor. But the blending is a B*tch. However… I’ve been using them to create the “two-tone” lip that was on the runways. One color on top lip, the other on the bottom. Granted I end up smooshing them together shortly thereafter, but let’s face it… that’s not a “realistic” lip look for everyday wear anyhow.
LOVE your review, Mo!
