A while back, Mo reviewed a super neat-o all natural skin care line, Garden Girl Skin Care. Garden Girl was born out of a passion of providing natural skincare and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Adore their name! I would like to consider myself a bit of a garden girl. My garden this summer has had a slow start, due to an unusually cool start to our summer here in Utah. Got a bunch of heirloom tomatoes growing, peppers, cucumbers and squash and a few varieties of herbs. I guess you could call it a salsa garden.
Time to get off my garden tangent and get back to this skin care review! I recently got hold of Garden Girl’s Break Free fruit acid gel for oily/problem skin, $50.00 (4 oz.). The gel contains a combination of glycolic, lactic and pyruvic acids. This fruit acid peel was created to benefit those who suffer from break-outs and have sun damaged skin. These AHA’s gently remove the outer layers of damaged or thickened skin. Garden Girl claims that by using Break Free regularly it can improve dry skin, treats age spots, can improve oily and acne prone skin, and will decrease fine lines and wrinkles.
My response? Dang Garden Girl, you put together one potent peel formula. I have had several professional grade chemical peels in the last few years and must say that for a at-home product, this one really rocks. You can feel a definite tingle while using it, but not too strong or scary. Rinse after 10-15 minutes to deactivate the acids and your skin will glow. No lasting redness or irritation while using this product, although I would use caution if you have extremely sensitive or reactive skin. This peel leaves my skin feeling smooth and ready to take on any additional serum or moisturizer.
My skin has also thoroughly enjoyed the use of Garden Girl’s Chill Out Body Lotion with mandarin and other relaxing essential oils.
They describe it as smelling like a citrus orchard – the blossoms of a sweet orange tree and the slightly sharper scent of grapefruit. Sweet, but not in a overbearing way, my fragrance-sensitive nose really enjoys it. Good going Garden Girl!

This line is really rocking! I see rave reviews from everyone I talk too. Plus you can’t beat the customer service and personal attention directly from the owner. Love that!
Thanks SO much for this review Jen!

Looks enticing, though I’m not so sure about fruit acid for dry skin….
