Random things that crossed my mind, but never quite made it into their own post…
Last week Aromaleigh had a killer 50% off sale on their Rocks! sonic collection. I know, I know, I would’ve told you but I was on vacation and didn’t hear about it myself until only a few hours before it was over. I bit the bullet and bought the sample set of the whole mineral eyeshadow collection, since I have been wanting it for ages. I threw in a full size sealant, which allowed me to get a full size Elemental Hue for free, and the
whole kit and caboodle (plus 3 additional free samples) was at my door in under a week. Honestly, it’s a great deal. Except for one baggie which inexplicably showed up practically empty, I can get 5 or more uses out of each color, depending on how I choose to use it, and with 80 colors (plus all the other samples I already owned) to choose from I may never need to buy eye shadow again. Yeah right, who do I think I’m kidding?! At the suggestion of our very own Deco Diva a while back, I went out and purchased a 3 ring binder and filled it with collectible card inserts. The little pockets are the perfect size for organizing your shadow samples, and it was well worth the 6 bucks I spent just to keep it all together and easy to access. I work for a government agency that just loves to quash any bit of individuality you can muster, so my goal is to wear as many of the colors from this collection as I can before someone pipes up and tells me to knock it off!
Missed the 50% off sale? Don’t worry too much dearies, you can still save 25% on the Rocks! collection through 10am(EST) on the 22nd. Be sure to take a peek at the coupon codes too, since there are some great extras to be had with your order. They also sell that great gel eyeliner we’re all in love with, so if you’ve been wanting to try it or need a refill for some reason then you can pick it up there as well.
John Freida Clear Shine Glaze. I saw this on the sale table at Rite Aid and thought “Hey, a clear hair gloss is a clear hair gloss, right?” so I gave it a shot. It’s a perfectly passable shine booster, if you can get over the fragrance. The gallons and gallons of fragrance. Just opening the package to get at the bottle left my head spinning, this stuff is loaded. Also, make sure you wear gloves if you just got your nails done, because this stuff will REMOVE your polish. For real. I’m not sure if I really want to be putting something on my head that can remove nail polish, but maybe that’s just me. There are better products out there for a comparable price, so really, do yourself the favor and just hit the beauty supply store for a good clear gloss. Or wear gloves. And a nose plug.
Sense Splash Firming Body Nourisher. Who isn’t on the lookout for a good body lotion? I think it’s much like the perfect mascara, everyone’s trying to find it, even though it may not actually exist. So when one of my coworkers passed a tube of this along to me I wasn’t going to say no. The man has been a massage therapist for over 20 years and swore this is the best lotion he’s found, so I was excited to try it out. One of the things I really enjoyed about it was the light scent. It gives me a little lift and doesn’t burden my nostrils. This wasn’t quite as instantly soothing as I’d hoped, but the results are long lasting. I can put it on at the beginning of my shift and make it through the end without feeling dry and scratchy. And since I don’t ever remember to apply more lotion until I’m nowhere near a bottle of it, long lasting is a definite plus. Another plus, this isn’t too heavy or greasy and it sinks right into my skin. There are a couple minuses for this lotion though. One is the price. I have a $20 price limit for lotion, and it better be a really good lotion if I’m spending 20 bucks, so the $24-ish price tag for this is pretty steep to me. The other hiccup is availability. This is a product from Usana Health Sciences, a direct marketing company that sells supplements and body care, so you’ll have to order online or find a local distributor if you want to try it out.

I usually post about those 50% off sale in my blog, too, because that’s too good of a deal to miss!
Also, if you had a bag arrive empty, email Aromaleigh about it! They’ve got amazing customer service and will be happy to solve that problem for you.
Btw, I’m so glad you tried the 3 ring binder! I really like it! I now have three of them *blush*
