Has anybody here NOT heard of Beautyfix yet? This is a really awesome service that sends out a bag of beauty goodies each season right to your door. Yep, 4 times a year you get a treasure trove of deluxe sample and/or full size products shipped straight to you. You can pick your products or just be surprised with their recommendations, it’s up to you. Normally all these treats are $49.99 a box, but if you use the code BFIX1 you can nab it for only $19.99, including shipping. This is a super fun and totally inexpensive way to try new products and pamper yourself. And with the promo code it’s almost too good to pass up!

Urban Decay Friends and Family

Apr 10, 2010 Author: Mo | Filed under: Uncategorized

It’s here! One of my favorite things to hear is “Friends and Family Sale”, and this time is no exception. I’ve already placed my order AND received my goodies, and I’d hate for you to miss out just because I forget to tell you about it!

Some new items to consider trying out for 30% less than usual:

Makeup setting sprays. Seriously, I’ve used mine for the last few days and I’m in love. Can’t wait to write up a review and really let you know what I think.
De-Slick in a Tube. If you love the oil absorbing powder(I do!), try it in gel form
24/7 anything. I love it all, eye liners, lip liners, concealer. Can’t go wrong with these and there are some great sets available too.
Tinted moisturizers. I haven’t tried these yet, but they’re NEW. I love new things!
Stardust eye shadows. Another review in the making for these bad boys. Lovely colors and glitter with no fall out.

Plus, it’s all 30% off. Just slap 1SFNF in the coupon code box and save yourself some lunch money! Urban Decay F&F runs through April 19th.

Clinique Youth Surge Moisturizer

Dec 24, 2009 Author: Mo | Filed under: Moisturizers, Skincare, Uncategorized

Sometime amid the chaos in our house today my previously written post was deleted by one of my darling little munchkins. I can’t say for sure which one of the monsters shut down my browser without hitting save first because they’ve banded together quite admirably and aren’t naming names. Oh well, it gave me the energy to whip up another batch of cookies and I have to love the fact that for once they aren’t falling all over themselves to tattle.

As I may have mentioned a time or twenty before, I have blemish prone skin, even in my 30’s. I’m also creeping into fine line territory and I believe I have definitely whined before about how unfair this is. The major problem is that there aren’t really many products for women in my position. There are scads of acne control products on the market, and an infinite number of wrinkle creams and treatments, but I’ve had trouble finding a product for that lucky woman who has need of both. Besides the expense of doubling up on products to treat both issues, I’m irritated by the difficulty I have finding just the right balance between acne and wrinkle treatments. Intense wrinkle creams can often exacerbate oily skin and many acne treatments are drying, so using both at once can sometimes be counterproductive. I need a lightweight moisturizer that will help prevent aging without breaking out my already finicky skin, is that so much to ask? (more…)

Pretty, pretty new pencil shades at Urban Decay

Nov 24, 2009 Author: Jen Hill | Filed under: Uncategorized

My indispensable beauty item?  Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencils.

And four new shthe-flower-urban-decay1ades just in time for the holidays!  How can something so simple bring such joy?!

  • Crash: deep plum w/ teeny silver glitter
  • Binge: navy blue
  • Mildew: deep green (eww on the name UD – way nice on the color  ;P)
  • Oil Slick: black w/ teeny silver glitter
As much as Mo is lusting after the Hi-Fi Matte Collection at Aromaleigh, I am simply drooling for that navy liner, and Crash sounds pretty dang awe-some!!!  The 24/7 Gift Sets make wonderful presents (and don’t just take my word for it – feel free to ask my 15 year old daughter Amanda what she thinks about them)!
And be sure to browse at the Urban Decay Gift Page for some other very colorful gift-giving ideas!
